Downtown Trick-or-Treating
Saturday, October 25, 2008 - 11:30 am-1 pm
Spooks and ghouls of every variety came to haunt downtown. We have it on good authority that these little hobgoblins were partial to candy in large doses. One downtowner experienced in dealing with this annual paranormal phenomenon offered the following observation: The best way to handle the tricksters was to fill their little pumpkin pails to the brim with sugar treats and send them home with a smile! 2007 offered great weather and nearly 1,000 little trick-or-treaters. |

Old Fashioned Downtown Christmas
November 21, 2008 5 to 8 p.m.
The Downtown Christmas season will officially arrive with the much anticipated annual Old Fashioned Downtown Christmas event taking place in the heart of Downtown. This year's event will be filled with the traditional holiday sights, scents and sounds such as strolling carolers, cookies and cider, popcorn, funnel cakes, sleigh, pony and train rides, storytelling, and of course Santa and Mrs. Claus.
We're asking all of Santa's Downtown elves to mark your calendars for November 21st. Your assistance is always appreciated and there are plenty of opportunities for you and your business to participate in this heartwarming occasion. If you or someone you know would like to participate in the planning, volunteer time or talent to this event, please call Sharon at the Chamber, 382-9210. The Old Fashioned Downtown Christmas is also a perfect opportunity for youth groups to earn service credit hours while they experience the warmth and joy of giving.
